Only garbage was found in the patch input
It seems that "cvs diff -u" creates a diff format that patch doesn't like. For example"
gsharp@stonesmith:~/projects/sripper_1x$ patch -n < my.patch
patch: **** Only garbage was found in the patch input.
On debian you can install a pacakge called patchutils, wich includes a program called fixcvsdiff. This doesn't work.
What is wrong???

Japanese on Debian
Still this is tricky, even in 2008. My windows 98 box has had pretty smooth Japanese IME since the early 2000's. Anyway, I got it working uim. The following link pointed the way:
